⁴ Not so the wicked!
    They are like chaff^(Q)
    that the wind blows away.
⁵ Therefore the wicked will not stand^(R) in the judgment,^(S)
    nor sinners in the assembly^(T) of the righteous.

⁶ For the Lord watches over^(U) the way of the righteous,
    but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.^(V)

⁵ The Lord examines the righteous,^(A)
    but the wicked, those who love violence,
    he hates with a passion.^(B)

¹⁴ By your hand save me from such people, Lord,
    from those of this world^(A) whose reward is in this life.^(B)
May what you have stored up for the wicked fill their bellies;
    may their children gorge themselves on it,
    and may there be leftovers^(C) for their little ones.

¹⁵ As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face;
    when I awake,^(A) I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.^(B)

¹⁰ Many are the woes of the wicked,^(A)
    but the Lord’s unfailing love
    surrounds the one who trusts^(B) in him.

¹⁷ for the power of the wicked will be broken,^(A)
    but the Lord upholds^(B) the righteous.

¹⁸ The blameless spend their days under the Lord’s care,^(C)
    and their inheritance will endure forever.^(D)
19 In times of disaster they will not wither;
    in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.

²⁰ But the wicked will perish:^(E)
    Though the Lord’s enemies are like the flowers of the field,
    they will be consumed, they will go up in smoke.^(F)

²¹ The wicked borrow and do not repay,
    but the righteous give generously;^(G)
22 those the Lord blesses will inherit the land,
    but those he curses^(H) will be destroyed.^(I)

³⁷ Consider the blameless,^(A) observe the upright;^(B)
    a future awaits those who seek peace.^[a](C)

³⁸ But all sinners^(A) will be destroyed;^(B)
    there will be no future^[a] for the wicked.^(C)
